well, i am lookin to maybe get into cyclocross but i live in pittsburgh...anyone have any info on where to ride cross in the burgh?

Eastern PA has quite a bit and Ohio has some that aren't even in that calendar, so you have to do some investigation. Check bikereg.com too.
