I wonder if German media is dropping the Tour coverage because they have determined that it won't be profitable, or because of political/moral pressure.
The German media and politicians have taken very strong rhetorical stances on the whole doping issue, but I wonder where the average public is.

German politicians have chosen to be sanctimonious, and have also chosen to make cycling the whipping boy. I wouldn't doubt that German cycling fans are rather exasperated - since they've had their share of riders turn up positive, and are down two Pro Tour teams over the past two years. I'm just glad I don't live there.

I think a cable type station is still going to show it however. I really wish the Euro's would look at 'futbol' in the same lite as they do cycling, cause I guaranty some of your high price football\soccer players are juice with the best of them.

yeah, the annoying thing is why is cycling the whipping boy? This is clearly an issue for germany, but it's also the case with perception and media in general. One reason is that doping in cycling has a more direct effect on performance than doping in futbol, or baseball.

I guess U.S. politicians are highly, highly sanctimonious about doping in baseball (though they don't really care about football) but no one would ever dream to propose dropping TV coverage.

Germans only vacation in Italy and Scandinavia. ;)

But they get Eurosport in Germany, so don't worry too much about them.

Eursport broadcasts the tour as well as stations from other countries received through the satellite and cable.
