My bike knowledge is limited and I'm definately a newbie when it comes to technical stuff. I use a mtn bike to tour and commute and have been reading about some of the puncture resistant tires. Most sizes I see are for cc. I need a tire that fits 26 by 1.75. Do the continental touring tires or Armadillos come in this size? any help with conversions would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!
I have 26x1.75 Conti Top Touring on my touring bike. Works great so far and these have a great reputation amoung tourers.
I have the Top Touring in 26x1.75 on my commuter and in 700x32 on my tourer. Very heavy but very reliable in the months I've used them.
I see Continental also has a Sport Contact tire that might have good puncture protection but in a much lighter version.

Continental's US website appears to be down for now.

I have used the performance slicks for commuting and they work great so far. I do not have a lot of miles on them to give a thorough review though. I have used a slick tire by IRC that runs 95 PSI and is also 1.25. I have many miles on those and have never had a problem.
I hope this helps.

I've done some loaded touring on Avocet Cross II kevlars, 26x1.5" though. I know they have some 700c sizes but not sure if they make a 1.75" wide one and they are kind of hard to find.
