Lately I noticed that while I'm riding, I hear this little noise, something between a short squeak and a tick, coming from the headset area... this is only while I'm on the bike.. The steering doesn't feel stiff or anything, and when I'm off the bike there is no noise..

Any idea what it is? should I worry about it?

thanks in advance...

You could check to see if the cable housings are rubbing the headtube. Also check the headset to see if it is properly lubed.

In a traditional threaded steerer tube with a conventional stem, the stem tube will squeak inside the steerer tube, especially when you're placing more stress on the handlebars. The recommended fix is to pull your stem, clean it, lightly lubricate it with any available grease and reinstall.
