Does anyone have any experience with the Topeak Super Tourist Rack with spring? You can also install the Topeak travel bag if needed, as well as panniers. I weigh 180 lbs. and stood on this rack mounted to a bike and it felt very sturdy. (Of course I had a few holding the bike for balance while I stood atop.) Thanks for the tips to come.

It's generally thought that beyond sheer vertical support bearing weight (e.g. you standing on it) what makes a great rack-front or rear-is its lateral stability.

No first hand experience with Topeaks but a couple of my friends said, (paraphrased) "Once loaded and out on the road those racks made my bike wag like a dogs tail". Not a good sign.

I've also read wear the cheaply priced racks don't have a particularly rigid rack-to-pannier connection which of course also means the pannier itself needs a rigid mounting system... all of this equates to lots of gray areas for shimmy & wobble to occur.
