I purchased a Marin Novato 20.5 that was bought new this June, it has a rear rack and different grips (ergo) I paid $275.00. I'm 5'11" and 235 presently, I've lost 40 lbs in six months and enjoy riding. The guy I bought this from sad the Novoto is pretty sturdy and should give me good service. Was this a good purchase for a Clyde that is starting to ride?

Looks like a great deal on a really nice bike. And if you're happy with it and it keeps you riding, it is worth way more than you paid.

Agreed.
I was eying a Marin at the LBS this morning... good lookin' bike.
I got a Trek 7300 several years ago and still ride at least 1000 miles a year on it. Seems to me you got a great bike that you will have for many years.
