Classic & Vintage - Advice re restoration of white Turbo saddle please.

I want to work on my Pinarello white Turbo saddle. It is generally in good shape with some significant scuffs toward the back on the lean-it-against-the-wall-side, as well as some spots where the finish has been worn down to leather. What would you use and what would you do to whiten and finish this saddle?

Go to a leather store, not a Wilson's but a cobbler if possible. They have some leather resto products, specficially white. Liquitex makes a good white leather paint if you're looking to touch up, I've used it on shoes.

They definitely make white kiwi mops and they cost like three dollars

I almost never get all kitted up just to go for a ride... Anyone try it yet?

As far as a white Turbo saddle, there is a white Kiwi creme shoe polish that works pretty darn well.
You may save a lot of time if you go to a uniform shop or a NAVY military base. They have white shoes for summer whites, and that's where they sell the white polish.

If the polish is gone down to the leather, use some kind of dye SPARINGLY. Then use thin layers of the white polish, generally with a wet T-shirt wrapped around a couple of fingers, and shine the saddle like a shoe. DO NOT use the white squeeze bottle polish they sell for sneakers, it's simply paint.

After a few applications of the white, you should have a pretty nice looking saddle. Then, get some Neutral polish, and apply a thin coat. This will "unbleach" that saddle a bit, but put a protective coat over your white seat. The same works for black.

If all else fails, buy the Kiwi white shoe creme, and take the saddle to a shoe-shine stand, drop it off and come back later.
