Recreational & Family - Biking in Tuscaloosa with my son

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Went to Tuscaloosa last weekend to bicycle with my son who's a U of A student. We haven't ridden together in a very long time. He took his bike when he left home and uses it to commute every day. We rode along the river path to Oliver lock and back and then around. Later we're going to do some dirt at Sokol Park and Lake Lurleen, I hope. I really want to make this a habit. I miss him terribly.

It is awesome to reconnect with ones offspring on two wheels.
Just wanted to say I can relate even though our sons are very different in ages - mine is just 4. I get to see him often but I still have tough days when I just miss him so much...my thoughts and wishes are with you...

Another vote for a long series of reconnections.
It seems a sign of successful parenting that one day, sometimes when you least expect it, a child turns into an interesting adult and, within seconds, is off on his or her own.

Roll Tide! I was born in T-town, came back many years later to get my masters. Lots of great riding in the area.
