New to this forum and I must say it is great to see such an interest in vintage bicycles. I am currently restoring my 1979-80 Windsor Touring Elite Bicycle. My father and I did some Touring in the 1980's and the bike has logged many miles, unfortunately (for the bike) I went to college, career, family etc and cycling was out (hangs head in shame). I bought a GT Mountain bike about 8 years ago and use it around town but not often. Back to the Windsor, it has trailed me through history, sitting in attics, Garages, Bike Shops, and finally a shed behind my current home. My 6 year old son and I were moving some Halloween decorations out of the shed when he asked who's cool bike that was. Well a bolt of lightning hit me and "Operation Winsor Rebuild" was born. Keegan and I have stripped the bike, and begun the job of getting it back on the road. Great fun for both of us, my son was quite proud of reassembling the crank and chain rings with little help from me. My hope is the project will renew my love for cycling and spark one in my son. I will update as the project goes and post pictures.
