Hey just wondering if anyone out there has been hit by a car and what the protocol is with the insurance companies. Just got hit the other day and got their info, there will be a claims adjuster calling me in the next couple of days and I was just wondering what to expect. My bike is pretty jacked up and its worth about 600 to 700 dollars and was just wondering what I should ask for as compensation. Thanks

Sorry about the accident. Not trying to be a dick, but this is a great topic to search on here, and in the road forums. Lots of great discussions about how to deal with insurance companies and such. Just don't take everything as the absolute truth, and you'll be able to pick out the good stuff from the noise in those discussions. It's a hot topic, and gets people pretty riled up usually.

FWIW, I think you should be able to get a comaprable bike out of the deal, have your medical and lost wages paid, and maybe even a bit more for your pain and suffering.
