I finally turned 50 2 weeks ago, and today I rode my age! It's a wonderful feeling. It may not be much but looking back less than 2 years ago I had an infection that led to open heart surgery, made me having doubts about what my life would be like. Anyway, just wants to share with all th good folks here at 50+.
Thanks!

You're happy about hitting 50? Time for a full psychiatric workup. Check with your HMO for coverage. bk

Congratulations! On both the age and the ride :-)
Happy Birthday and congratulations on completing your first half-century (50 miles). That IS much. Tell just about anyone you know who isn't a cyclist that you rode 50 miles and watch their expression of astonishment. It's something that most people don't even imagine doing, but once you get on a bike and start to love it, there's no stopping you.
Congratulations also on your progress since your surgery. That's very inspirational.
Great, Welcome and keep us posted on your doings.
You didn't say where you live but find a group to ride with, they'll be good people.

A GREAT accomplishment, especially after the ride you were on a number of years ago. You are an inspiration. I plan to ride my age (will be 56 in March) next year. My past journey includes a knee replacement with nerve damage....I hearya!
