Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Hidden Subforums

Apparently, there is a woman's forum here on BF, but it is hidden and only women are allowed to join. There is also a hidden subforum in the Mechanics forum, that I was allowed access. This seemed to happen after I mentioned I worked in a LBS in a thread. The next day I got a message saying I was allowed in the subforum.

My questions are: are there any other hidden subforums? Why are they hidden? I can understand only allowing certain members to be in such subforums, but if we don't know they exist, how can we ask to join? I mean, if I never mentioned that I worked in a LBS, I would have never been allowed access to the Industry Related subforum. Is there a list of all the hidden forums we can ask to be allowed access? Do we just guess and hope there might be such a forum?

If so, is there a subforum for steel loving, vertically challenged, short legged, opinionated, campy hating, arthritic, don't believe the helmet hype, but lovable cyclists? :p

You are correct about the women's forum. And you have access to the other forum. There is P and R which you need to have access to as well. The others are for mods and admins. No others except for Ti membership.

I think the LBS employees got driven into hiding by all the anti-LBS threads that get posted here.

...so how _exactly_ does one go about gaining access ("posting privilages")to the the P&R forum? I can see it, I just can't post in it. I tried asking a Mod, via private email, and that hasn't seemed to work. I haven't received as much as a reply. Is there some double-secret handshake you've got to master or something?

Perhaps if I were to casually drop in a thread somewhere that I used to be a page in Washington or an altar boy, that would work, and I would suddenly, and without being notified, be awarded access?
