Charity Events - LiveSTRONG rides outside of the US?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Given Lance's return to the pro peloton with the goal of spreading the message about battling cancer, I was wondering how LiveSTRONG rides outside of the US might be received? Canada, Italy, Belgium, Australia, maybe even France if they ask nicely? ;) Granted, I have not heard rumors of plans for any rides like these, so I don't want to start any - it's just me speculating. So, what do you think? Good idea, or not?

Hmm...lets see. My boss and I ride each year in the Austin ride.

I vote for a company trip to France for a Livestrong ride in like July. :D

Actually Italy, Spain or Australia would be great too.

I actually looked to see if there was a UK ride when I first heard about them, but theres not. I hope that they can take them outside the US as from what I hear the ones in the states are pretty good events. Id definately get involved if they did one here and im sure there would be a great turnout.

I'm so down for a Livestrong ride through Italy. I think they'd be well received, maybe if along with LA, they got like Bettini to ride in Italy, Casar in France (is there any decent french cyclist out there anymore? bwah bwah bwaaah), Boonen to host the after parties, etc, etc, etc

I was surprised at how many Canadian riders came down to the Philly ride; there were about a dozen that I saw. (Aboot a dozen?)

The idea of having pros attend from each country is cool too. I imagine Basso would get involved with an event in Italy.

superjim, if you ever decide to come to the US for the Philly event, let us know!
