Just as it sounds, i am looking for a cheap crankset, or even just a drive side crank that is a 170mm. I don't care what the condition, age, anything. Just that it is greater than 42t and can fit a typical Shimano sealed cartridge BB(square taper, i think). Thanks everyone!

confused. Do you need a crank or a ring?

crank(s) and a ring. If its a 170mm driveside crank, then i only need one. Anything else, i need two. Im running a 32? tooth ring, and its too small, i over pedal at too slow a speed for my liking.

Your LBS's junk box or Ebay.

I have a shimano 600 crankset available. 43t. 170mm. I also have a 52t ring to go with the set. Right now it has BMX bolts on it to allow just one of the rings.

e-mail me if interested:

Okay, sent the money out. Should be there in 3-4 postal days. Look forward to seeing the new cranks and the new speed they will bring me. Thank you, Alec

Just to make sure of a few things: It will fit a standard Shimano BB with the square taper, right? Are you sending both chainrings? And, to remove the old cranks, if i don't care about damage, no special tools are needed?

Yes it will fit a square tapered b.b, yes both chainrings are included. If you do not care about damage then a hammer and a block of wood will eventually get it off.
