For April 2009, orders due in by November 21.

Looks like it might end up being a great deal with enough participation. If the price gets low enough, I might just have to get two frames...

When did Pedalforce come out with a 'cross frame?

I have been waiting for a frame exactly like that...

but no fork with the group buy? F that...

I gotta admit, it would be nice if they had thrown in their house fork at those prices. Still a good deal on a CF cross frame though. Now I just gotta figure out what bike has the same geometry so I can go try riding it and determining sizing.

Click on the Group Buy tab. You get an option of three different forks at very good prices---Pedal Force, EastonEC90X and AlphaQCX.

Dangit...

I'm really trying not to buy any more frames. Otherwise i'm going to want to build it up.

I am interested in this Group Buy at the lower price, and it does indeed include three good fork options at good prices---Pedal Force, Easton EC90X or AlphaQCX. Why isn't this Group Buy listed under "Marketplace--Group Buy" section of Bike Forums? Seems like it would attract more subscriptions to bring the price down if it were listed in the Group Buy section.

price?

Click on the link in the first post, then click on "Group Buy". If enough people subscribe, the price for a frame is $538.00. The frame in size 53cm weighs 1,130 grams according to website. If a person wants to include a fork, the best price would be $676, $786 and $816 for the Pedal Force, Easton EC90X or Alpha Q CX forks respectively.

If I didn't buy my crosscheck 1.5 months ago, I'd definitely be in on this one. A carbon cross bike - that's SWEET!

All my bikes pre date integrated headsets, but when I look at new bikes, both road and cross, most seem to have integrated headsets. And some have semi integrated headsets. What is the story with them?

there's a good explanation of integrated headsets on the Chris King website:

http://chrisking.temp.veriohosting.com/tech/int_headsets_explained/int_hds_explain_1.html

it should be read with a certain amount of skepticism, as King is in the business of selling "traditional" headsets, but i cannot find fault with many of their arguments.

i guess it depends on your attitude when buying a bike: i intend to keep all of mine forever. not just until the headset needs replacing (which is quite a long time, after all).

Looks like people have signed up for the $538 (140+ frames) price...wouldn't we be better off signing up for the $550 price (100+ frames) so that we're more likely to get the deal? I'd hate to lose this because of $12.

I think that total is cumulative, meaning if you signed up for 850$ you also signed up for 700$, 600$, etc. So really, only 7 people tried to save 12$. I'm still on the fence, I think it's an awesome price at 800$, but I know that I'd then have to get decent wheels, handlebars, drivetrain, etc. which is going to add up.

I signed up -- lets make this happen at the lowest price point!

Yep, as Fix noted, it looks like if you are willing to go $538, which takes 140 people, then you may as well be willing to spend $12 more at $550, which only takes 100 people. That is what I am going to do.

Again, why isn't this group buy advertised in the Marketplace/Group Buy forum? I just tried to post a reference to it there, but the sight would not let me post anything there. Seems like it would attract additional buyers that are not visiting the cylocross forum if it were posted there.

Can someone please post a Carbon Cyclocross Frame Group Buy thread with a link to Pedal Force in the Marketplace/GroupBuy forum? Thanks.

Does not look like they are going to reach the 100 mark

Yes, I signed up for the $550 option too. We can hope that there are lots of procrastinators, or that they extend the offer.

There are 99 people signed up on the website now. One more and it would make it 100 and drop the price another 50$.
