How often do you do "it" per month/week/day whatever? How often would you LIKE to do it? Seems like there is always some imbalance. How do you deal with it? Take "matters" into your own hands?

ummm, when i was married...not often enough. now that i'm single, still not often enough!

When I was in a long-term, GOOD GOD! Since we went to different schools that weren't too distant, we pretty much got down to business every time we saw each other (which was often enough to not make it boring). However, I'm 21...so that kind of activity is expected (though my libido is pretty low now).

I learned the difference between getting down the RIGHT way (actually enjoying it) and the WRONG way (gets boring after the second weekend).

If you feel like your sexual life isn't really working out for the both of you, you should talk to her about it. If that doesn't do it, then possibly speaking with a counselor would work better.

Yep, tho not just a tired thing. Kids have a strange way of waking up in the middle of the night or early morning when things are starting to get intertesting. Makes it hard to be spontanious. :( Somehow we manage twice a week or so.

Current LTR:
Together 3+ years, married for 2 of them, me 40, her 49, my 17yr old son stays with us two days out of every week.
Averages out to about once every other day or so, 3-4x/week.
Longest time without was 9 days when I was away on business.

Previous LTR:
Married 17 years, same ages, raised one son.
At the beginning, after the first year or so, it was once every other day. Toward the end, it was about once every 3-4 days, 2x/week.
Longest time without was the 6wks after the birth of our son. Previous and subsequent to that, two weeks was about the max.

Was happy with the previous situation (in this aspect only--plenty of other issues to be unhappy about); happy with the current situation. If asked this question three years ago at the beginning of current LTR, answer would have been more than once a day on average...

Before she was pregnant, twice a day, every day--once when the alarm went off, and again in the afternoon right after work. More than that on weekends. Once, during a road trip, we did it 15 times in one weekend--at every rest stop, hotel, etc. (That was a little overkill, though.)

Now that we have a three month old, we are still getting back into the swing of things, but it's picking up. Anyway, the current situation isn't that accurate and it is picking up again all of a sudden. During the entire pregnancy, we probably did it only three times total in those 9 months. Yikes!

Overall, not only was it a lot, but it was all GREAT, too (quality AND quantity, quality first). Doing it to get pregnant made it all that much better, too. Yes, we got tired. In fact, she had to go to the doctor once until she became accustomed to it because she was so sore. That was pretty silly.

And I have yet to be able to keep up with her, even now with the baby.

Married 15 years. 2-3 times a week. More for my benefit than hers. She is so good to me. Longest time without was around 6-7 weeks when the kids were born. With the kids, quickies and showers are the norm now. But it still helps with stress management.:)
