Small pix for now, I`ll coff up some bigger and better ones soon.
The main frame is a "detatchable" frame from the 197`s. 24" Wheels. On the picture there is a 26" wheel in the rear, but now i put 24" .
I made this bike becouse I want a longtail that is easy to take with me on the bike rack of the car. I`ll take some pix of the bike when detatched.
I am thinking of changing to a modern fork, 26" wheels since the best option for good tyres is in 26", but then 24" is stronger and smaller, so maybe I`ll stick to that. I`we got some 24" studded lying around from when my son was smaller.
At present I am using a hub brake in the front since this is what the bike came with, nothing else fit on the present fork. Also I am thinking of maybe to keep it since it is maintenance free and do not need tuning after ewery time I detatch and transport it. But then there is the weight issue..
BB is the old fashioned "all in one piece" (both crank arms + axel) and the housing is 6 cm by 6,8 cm. I am removing this whole system and put a modern BB and cranks. I know I can buy adapters, but I think I`ll just go the cheap DIY way as I did with my Polish folder.
I remowed crank + bb some time back, and It weighed more that 2 kg,s included the rubber block pedals - chain.
I`ll get some more and some better pix soon.
The snowboard is just a fun comment to the skateboards that most peopel use as an alternative to the snapdeck.
I`wwe got one more stripped frame like this in the basement. maybe I`ll make one with a 20" rear wheel next time? I`we got a 20" triangle and wheel also.. :D
