shipping guys just got here w/ mom's new bike... it showed up in pieces, like i mean it got ran over type pieces. little hub motor was in two pieces, front wheel was trashed, battery casing was snapped in half, chain was bend... and that was just what was sticking out of the *ss end of the box. i sure hope that puppy was insured, and if it wasn't... can TOTALLY blame the packer on this one. i'd NEVER pack a bike the way this thing was packed. not one iota of care was put into the packing job. i'd be shocked if the insurance people would accept the application to insure that thing. it was litterally throw into a half box and had shipping plastic wound around it. no padding anywhere. mom's going to be ticked!
and she was so looking forward to it too. man, i hate being the bearer of bad news...
grrr

Why did they even deliver it? A decent company would have phoned up with an explanation and profuse apologies and an assurance that a new bike was on the way via the fastest delivery method they have. Why should the customer have to deal with other people's stuff-ups?

That sucks, who did you buy this bike from?
Did you write to the company? send them an e-mail or something...

probably because the guy who shipped it in the first place is a moron who didn't pack the bike correctly in the first place. it looked to me as if he had just thrown the bike into a half box and wrapped packaging plastic around it. it also looked as if the shipping company unloaded it by driving backwards really fast and then slamming on the breaks really hard... and then reversing over the bike again. it was NOT in any semblence of a good quality packing job. in fact the guy who delivered it got out of his truck and said before anything else. "your not going to want to accept this shipment." oh well, life goes on.
after talking w/ mom she's glad it went back. especially after i told her of all the plastic parts i saw on the bike... it was an over priced toy that wasn't going to serve her very well. would have probably broken down even if it had showed up in one peice.
cheers

I'm glad your mom sent it back and everything is working out for the better in the end. BTW, what kind of bike was it? From your description of the broken parts, it sounds like some sort of electric-assist bike.
