Does anyone know if halogen bulbs are made with a screw base?

I have a dated headlight that I would like to upgrade. It presently uses 2 d cells and a pr2 incandescent bulb. Can I get a screw in halogen to make a simple upgrade? If so, where can I get them, who makes 'em, and any part numbers would help.

I can also convert same light to 6v screw ins if they are made. I tried the Radio shacks, Ace hardwares and the web to no avail. Light socket cannot be changed, must screw in.

thanks
