Foo - It's a problem

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The other day my brother tells me that this three mile long hill I cycle up regularly isn't a hill. He only drives up it in his car and on his motorcycle. But it is a hill. How do I know? When I descend it I go 20-35 mph for three miles without pedaling, that's how. So this was our conversation:
Me: 'Man, you are friggin oblivious aren't you?'
Him: 'Don't call me oblivious.'
Me: 'You are totally o-friggin-blivious.'
Him ' I am not oblvious.'
Me: 'If you were oblivious, how would you know?'
He didn't have a comeback for that.

Just put him on the bike, and send him up the hill. He'll tell you you're right.
it sounds like a Florida overpass... but much longer.

Do they have 6 mile long overpasses in FL? Because this hill is 3 miles long.

If you post this stupid question on the Go Ask Pcad Anything thread, you will get an answer, your pathetic stab at sarcasm not withstanding.
That being said, I never turn down free pizza.

Fixed. And I will be enjoying someone else's bar tab tomorrow night. It will be free beer...private party at the local brewpub (http://www.abcbrew.com/abbey/index.htm). :D
I'll bet free_pizza really wanted to be free_beer, but was afraid that people would expect some... ;)

Not steep at all. Gains 600 vertical feet over 3 miles (about 15,500 horizontal feet). Average grade is only about 3%, but it has a several multi-hundred meter sections of 5-8% grades, and a few flat spots too where it's level (only a few hundred meters over three miles). The point is that it's a hill (and for around here a lengthy one) no matter how you slice it. Like I said, you can bomb it going down pretty fast, by the bottom I'm always 35+ mph.
So what's the problem you mention in the title?

It's a hill, not a climb though;).

That's pretty impressive.
If only you knew what you were talking about.

You live at the top of a cliff?
Me: 'Man, you are friggin oblivious aren't you?'

I like those hills. Not too bad to get up - a blast coming down.
Take your brother's gas away for a week and send him on that road. He'll figure out it's a hill.
Did you two have on matching white short sleeved button downs, pocket protectors full of pens, and horn rimmed glasses with tape in the middle during this enthralling, riveting, verbal exchange?

Your brother thinks it's a false flat. Grow up, real hills make you cry, did you cry or are your eyes watering on the way down?
