Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - I need lights! Where do I purchase?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello!

So I have been vigorously scouring the forums on information about lights. I think I'm going to go with the DiNotte 400's or maybe 2*200's. That being said, I'm really curious about where to go to purchase these. I'm relatively new to commuting by bike (4 months) and I have crappy lights. I have some blinkies that are fine for now, but I really want a great headlight. I do a lot of commuting at night because of my job.

So, where do I look to make a purchase online. The deal extreme or whatever it is doesn't seem to be working. Any advice on where to purchase? And what to get would be great as well.

Thanks in advance!!

Neil

I like this place for flashlights, but if you want a DiNotte light the best place to buy them would be from DiNotte directly.

Dabble in making your own. For the price of the DiNotte, you can make a super system in either LED or halogen (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=368772). They may not have the polish of the DiNotte but they will have the performance...maybe even better:D

Buy them either directly from the dinotte site. My other suggestion is REI - their return policy let's you return it practically if anything ever goes wrong. If you're buying several lights at once, though (like a headlight and a tail light, or a helmet light and a handlebar light) the dinotte site has some serious discounts.

Dinotte is having a sale right now and I would recommend buying directly from them.

Nashbar.com and rei.com are also dealers. Some LBS can get them too provided they are dealers.
