I recently installed a 13-32 freewheel on my xtracycle. I have heard that the way to determine the proper chain length is to place the chain on the largest front and rear gears without derailleur. Make the length one length longer than necessary. Since the 32 tooth is larger than normal, would this make the chain too long and floppy on all the other gears? What would you recommend for chain length sizing?

big big plus two is a pretty accepted standard. Your rear derailler should pick up any slack.

Just read the xtracycle manual, and it said big to big through the derailleur +1 link. May have to beef up the derailleur tensioner though.
