I'm looking for a nice winter bike, and cyclocross seems to fit the bill. I'd also like to ride some singletrack (it seems some threads here and elsewhere verify that a CX bike would be ok for this) and, if I can find any local races, some actual CX. So, I guess basically what I'm looking for is a decent race bike that can handle a moderate singletrack course.
I've been looking at the Lemond Poprad (mostly because I found one used for $600, which is about how much I'd like to spend), but I'm not really aware of too many others. Anything in particular I should be looking at that might be found used in that price range? Also, any links to promising Craigslist ads would be great. No one in my city rides anything that wasn't purchased at a Wal-Mart, so my local CL is pretty barren. It's also a little difficult to wade through an eBay search of "cyclocross" without really knowing what to look for.
