I need a source for a bag of 20 Competition spokes (silver!), 291mm length. CambriaBike is out of anything close to 291mm, and everywhere else I look are in counts of 72 or 100. I've shipped the rest of the parts to my wheel builder already and rather not have to buy the spokes local and ship to him as he's having a hard time finding a good source local to him as well. Thanks.

lickbike.com. (http://www.lickbike.com/productpage.aspx?PART_NUM_SUB=%272216-00%27)

Cambria doesn't sell them with nipples. I just learned that the hard way. Lickstons does. They are 90c a spoke.

EDIT: Cambria also has them. They are 2.0 1.8 at 59c a spoke and are right above the DT DB 15-254 with no image. Once again, when ordering from Cambria you need to order the spokes.

I just used Excel Sports Boulder. I think they have boxes of twenty, but you can get any number you want. I just got 64 in 292mm. Best price I found. $.75 with nipples included. Very nice on the phone, order arrived a day ahead of schedule.

Thumbs down to lickbike. I used them a few weeks ago for some parts. Tried to use them again for spokes. I'd rather use a smaller shop than something like Performance. Asked them about getting 64 spokes. Guy on the phone was rather short with me and said, "Well, to be honest, it takes time to count them out and I don't want to do it." Okay, I guess you don't want my money that badly either. I was ordering more than just spokes, so it was going to be a decent amount of money. They also wanted $1 per spoke.

Even though cambria doesn't include nipples, it's still reasonable. When you're building a pair of 32 spoke wheels, it adds up.

I'm fortunate that I've got a couple LBS with Phil Wood machines, that can cut most any length - but at almost $1 each, that's an expensive source for a complete build.

I have access to buying parts, like spokes at wholesale prices. In spite of that I've bought spokes for my last several builds from wheelbuilder.com. He sells me the exact number of spokes that I need.
