We started cleaning and organizing our extra stuff bins at work and found these axles which we couldnt quite figure out...

And sorry theyre kind of big photobucket is not responding to my edit demands.

They measure 135mm and 125mm
One has bolts and the other looks like a QR would fit through it.

They each have text on the bearings:
NTN W.GERMANY
6002C3 (Larger bearing)
6001C3 (Smaller)

They're not the little axle subsitutes used on roof racks when the front wheel is removed, are they? (I don't have a roof rack, so I don't even know what I'm saying, but I've seen a little axle pieces like that to attach the front fork to the rack.) I'm guessing that's not exactly what they are, but it maybe something like that- a little tool or gage of some sort to go into the fork or drop-outs when you're doing some kind of specific work on a bike.

Axles from a very nice hub. Phil Wood, perhaps?

An axle set for a Phil Wood hubset is my guess. Complete with the bearings and also the nice allen head cap screws and washers to secure them to the frame as an alternative to quick release skewer.

Yeah my one guess was they might be from some Phil hubs, but the spacing is odd...

Per the first photo, the right side of the axles outside the bearing is the only part that measures differenly. The bearings are the same distance apart. I'm assuming these are rear axles from the length.

Those are Phil axles from before the FSA era, so for hubs 15+ years old. They're probably both for 6S wide or 7S narrow spaced freewheels. The 10mm difference looks to be all on the left side.

Absolutely useless unless you find the hub to fit them. The 135 would make a nice dishless (less dish, anyway) upgrade for an old hub, or the 125 would be good for making a 5S hub just a bit more modern.
