I forgot about that part....I am helping with my son's ski club at school so that is an extra day a week on the hill :)

My son is 6 and loves to ski. I don't know what I like better going slow and spending time with him or blasting down the steepest hill while testing gravity.

Psimet2001 you know you love the snow:D, Heck you now are doing cyclocross just throw on some studs and your fine. You could even bring that bike up here and ride Lake Charlavoix with me. Over 18,000 acres of flat terrain with not a single car. I live on the downwind side of the lake so we fight the beast on the way out and come flying back when done.

Anybody make it out to the show last night? My daughter and I did. It wasn't too bad.

I might take you up on that....

....and high school in Syracuse, NY cured me of all of my snow want. hundreds of hours plowing and shoveling. 6-10" every night for over a month....lost my car....IN MY DRIVEWAY....snow piles melting in July......I had enough.

I remember '92 being a horrible year there and I think IIRC we had 220-250" of snow that year. :notamused:

Looks like I was a little over on that, but I did find some info. The blizzard of 93 was what I was thinking about...

Syracuse is known for its snowfall. Boasting 115.6 inches (293.6 cm) on average,[7] the Syracuse metro area receives more snow on average than any other large city in the United States.[8][9] Syracuse continually wins the Golden Snowball Award, among Upstate cities. Its record so far is 192.1 inches (487.9 cm). The high snowfall is a result of the fact that the city receives both lake effect and nor'easter snow. Snow most often falls in small (about 1-3 inches/2-8 cm), almost daily doses, over a period of several days. Larger snowfalls do occur occasionally, and even more so in the northern suburbs.

One notable blizzard was the Blizzard of 1993, during which 42.9 inches (109 cm) fell on the city within 48 hours, with 35.6 inches (90.4 cm) falling within the first 24 hours. Syracuse received more snow than any other city in the country during this storm, which shattered a total of eight local records, including the most snow in a single snowstorm.[10] A second notable snowfall was the Blizzard of 1966, with 42.3 inches (1,070 mm). Ironically, virtually no snow fell during the Blizzard of 2006, where the Catskills and New York City saw over two feet (60 cm) of snow fall in about one day.
