I tired ti put my wheel back on and I could not get it on. well then the brake pads fell out. it was like huh? well tip the bike up while on the stand and see this. anyone see a bb7 fall apart liek this? it is only about 3k miles on it. it was just in need of new pads.

looks like this is a common issue and the part just came unscrewed. now the debate is get a new one for 40.00 locally or spend 20 to 25 for new pads.

The pressure foot just came out, no big deal. Download the service manual from the sram site (not the owners manual, the technical service manual for disc brakes) and they address the specific problem when people do this with the adjuster knob.

Also try not to squeeze the brakes when the wheel's off.

I usually don't but I may have when playing around with the front derailleur. got it back on and now it is a spare.

That's more to do with hydraulic than mechanical disc brakes...

Check the instructions, but you just hold the "piston" in positon and screw the adjuster down to get it back in to the caliper.
Also Avid pad sets are less than $20, some aftermarkets are much less.
