Hey there, I am in the early stages of pimping an old Trek mountain bike. I'm somewhat new to bikes so I don't know a whole lot about online retailers or specific brands just yet.

I am looking for colored wheel sets, probably red or blue...I have found VeloCity and Anzoni so far. I am NOT looking for high performance or upper end stuff. This is an urban bike that I'll be putting slicks on and riding it on pavement. So I'm looking for the least inexpensive option (as long as it doesn't suck). The bike is probably worth $75 but I'd rather customize it and have what I want then buy a new bike.

Can you suggest other brands that make 26" colored (anodized or powdercoated) wheelsets? Any/all advice is appreciated. Thanks

Chris

I don't think 'colored' is the proper term nowadays.

I9's .. about $800 per set

Crank Brothers.. about $1000 per set

given the bike you have.. i would just spray paint your current wheels.

I found a pair by VeloCity for under $300. I could swing that but I'm hoping there's something for less $$ out there.

Azonic, Transition, Spank, and others all make colored rims, but they are probably out of your price range.

Spinergy makes wheels with yellow, red, white, or blue spokes but they are probably out of your price range as well unless you can find a good deal on fleabay

My lbs had those rims for $110 on clearance like 4 months ago. I asked around and got info on them but ended up not having enough money. From what I hear they are worth the money.
