Hello, I'm a searcher in bike innovation from Copenhagen Business School. I am working on a new project in order to come up with new lead-user ideas. It would be very helpful to have ideas from you by answering a question. My question is the following: "When it's raining, ma face and my glasses are wet. Do solution or prototypes exist to protect face from the rain?" Thank you all for your collaboration.

Yes, a solution exists. A cycling cap.

Works with or without a helmet.

let me formulate it better: we are trying to find a solution that is attractive especially for females...PROBLEM: Most of the people move thanks to their bikes. However, when it’s raining, your face (MAKE-UP, eyes,...) is not protected. How can you keep your face dry without obstructing your vision and therefore your safety? thank you all.

Don't wear makeup when bicycling. Or get the waterproof stuff that synchro swimmers wear.

I, for one, never wear make-up while riding. Otherwise I might end up looking like this:

its going to rain here in 29681, USA all day Friday. i was just thinking yesterday that i need like a face-shield like mortorcycle helmets have to attach to my helmet so my face won't get cold (50 degrees Farenhet) and wet.

This seems like the solution! And it makes you look like you might happen to be a French Canadian and other associated things.

So you want us to give you ideas you can turn into a successful business? If I had a great idea, why would I give it to you instead of selling it myself?

Fenders?

My son just bought snowmobile gloves for winter riding. They have a wiper blade built into the side of the index fingers.

There's plenty of stuff out there. It's called a rain hat.

Makeup? Cultural change. I've always found those who don't wear the stuff more attractive.

The problem with face shields and partial face covers is fogging. With a well ventilated helmet, it's not a problem on motorcycles due to the faster speed and lower rate of physical exertion.

I would prefer my face uncovered (no makeup) with a pair of regular glasses with extra large "glass" area (for protection) and some coating that lets the water run off.

There is such a product for windshields (Rain-X) that works well. When it's fresh applied you can literally leave the w wipers off. It may not be compatible with the plastics used for glasses.

Could spray a like coating over the makeup. They have lip-gloss right?

Got to have fenders.

If it is raining and you are concerned about looking like a drowned rat after your ride, don't ride. Take the car/bus/train/etc.

If you aren't concerned with your looks, I find riding without glasses to be best.

You might want to do some market research to gauge the demand for a bicycle fairing.

My Daughter Mellisa designed this "Fiberglass Ladies Bicycle":

I wasn't done writing, I had to move my car (blocked someone in the driveway).

I know of two manufacturers of bicycle fairings:

Bicycle fairings may protect the cyclist from crashes, as well as the weather.

I think what we have here is a solution looking for a problem.

I wear a long-brimmed fishing hat for rain.
