I see the Morman missionaries biking around here. If Utah has as high a proportion of Mormans as people say, maybe Utahans understand bike transportation better than most Americans?
OGDEN, Utah (AP) - The Utah Transit Authority is developing a plan for a bicycle transit center at the Salt Lake City FrontRunner station to give commuters an incentive to use their bikes.
The transit center would give bicyclists who ride the train a place to clean up and store their bikes. The center also could include a bicycle repair shop, bicycle rentals, showers, and biking information such as maps and classes.
UTA held an open house in Ogden Thursday to discuss the project.
The center also is being developed by the Utah Department of Transportation and the Salt Lake City Mayor's Bicycle Association.
A similar bicycle center may be developed for the Ogden station.
UTA will finalize a plan for the center in March.
