There's a lady that works at the other end of my location. I don't know her too well but I noticed she would ride her bike to work and lock it up outside. I warned her that someone is going to take it but she said there was no where else to put it.

Well one day someone took her saddle. Her husband got her a new one. The next day someone put their cigarette out on it and burned a big hole in it. She was pretty bummed about it. A few days later, I noticed that she was in the building but her bike wasn't outside. When I asked about it, she said the someone stole it and now she is walking to work. The look on her face broke my heart. Especially when she said how much she loved that bike.

It's been a few months of searching but look what I'm gonna surprise her with. :D :D :D

There are a couple of spokes broken in the rear but I called her husband and he said he would take it in to get new spokes for it.

She's gonna be hella surprised when she finds this INSIDE the building with a card on it saying "Happy Riding" over by her operations area.

Siu, the world is a better place because of people like you. Good karma will come your way. Hopefully the lady who got the bike will get the chance to pay it forward to someone else.

Thanks everyone but to be honest with you, I'm "paying forward" to someone else because of everything I've gotten from all of you here. What I was given was not only cycling related but mostly the friendships I have formed and meeting many of you in person.

The love of cycling is what brought me here, to the point where I am now. And if she can get back into cycling and have a love for it like we all do then that gives me joy.

I'm only giving back what I was given.

what? You bought a brand new bike for someone you don't know all that well?

I just realised I'm a bad person because not in a million years would I have thought of doing that. You've raised the bar for being good too high! Give the rest of us a chance.

I always say that there are really very few times that you can really feel good about yourself.

Soooooooo, how do you feel?

I'll bet it's like the first day of a marriage, the birth of your child, or the saving of a human life.

Really, really, cool - what you did.......

Very kind of you! Even moreso given the fact that you're not just giving someone a bicycle, you're giving her an efficient means to get to work.

Lamplight, now she doesn't have to walk to work! :thumb:

Zorro, I am only passing on the wonderful gift of giving that you had given to me. ((hugs)) She had a cable lock but it was cut. She won't have to park it outside anymore. I had arranged with the appropriate people to let her park it in the locked gated storage area where we keep the pallets.

But the best part is that you've made it so she can keep it safe!
