Coca Cola have been forced to withdraw half a Million bottles of Dasani from UK shops as it was found to contain excessive amounts of Bromate, a potential cancer causing agent. In fact one environmental health officer said a water company would be fined if they produced tap water this poor.
Dasani has not had a good start here in the UK after it was discovered that it was actually tap water from their bottling plant in Sidcup (not the most idyllic of places) which had been through a purifing process. What is really embarrassing for Coca Cola is that the water was quite safe before it went through the purifing process.
After all this bad publicity I wonder if they will relaunch it? Serves them right for trying to make an estimated 3000% profit on a bottle
