Hey- was my post about rear deraillers deleted?? why?? (maybe i just didn't hit the submit button)
but, anyway-
my rear derailler is causing the chain to skip over the 7th sprocket(second to largest), and it won't go onto the smallest sprocket. I messed around with the two screws labeled high and low, any ideas??
thanx

There are lots of possibilities. Most likely, jacking with the limit screws wasn't a good thing to do.
Couple of questions?
1. Does your shifter match your cassette? If you have a 7-speed cassette, you have to have a 7-speed shifter or else live with imperfect shifting.
2. What kind of shape are your cables and housing in? Not shifting onto the smallest cog is often due to gunked up cables.Lots of times fresh cables and housings will work wonders for bad shifting.
3. Stand your bike up vertically against something and shift into the smallest cog in the back. Now go behind your bike and examine the derailleur arm. It should be pointing straight down. If it isn't, which is common, your dropout is bent. That will cause gear skipping too.
