Here's an article that explains why you need those tools and how to use them. It even has pictures ;) If you are planning to do your own maintenance, tools will pay for themselves in short order.

take it to a shop, so that someone who knows what they are doing can help you out before you break something.

im throwing my old rear wheel in the garbage :) it's a peice of s**t. so there is no need to take the old cassette off, cuz its trash too.
A 6" piece of chain and a vise-grip can be used as a chain whip.

first of all, I already bought a new wheel! thats why i needed to get the cassette off my old one, cuz i wanted to use it for my new wheel. And i bought a new cassette and chain today, so everything is all good. I just have 2 wheels and a cassette which im unsure what to do with(my old wheels and cassette).
