Northern California - Where do you park to ride on the ARBT?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I live in Antelope and want to hop onto the American River Bike Trail. I don't want to ride to the trail, so where should I park?
From there, the William Pond area might be best. http://www.sacparks.net/our-parks/american-river-parkway/william-b.-pond/Default.htm
I live pretty close to there, but on the other side of the river. If you'd like some company, let me know when you're going to ride the ARBT. I might be able to join you.

Joel's probably right, though you could also park along University Ave by the footbridge to Sac State (a mile or so west of the intersection of Howe / University. Depends in part on what area of the trail you want to ride on.
Like Joel, I live fairly close to the ARBT, so I just ride to it. Makes a good warmup. :)

Anyplace along American River drive would work. You'll only be a short distance from the trail.

...or in the Five Points shopping center parking lot at the intersection of Fair Oaks Blvd & Arden Way. A popular parking area, judging by the number of cars w/racks on 'em on any given weekend. If you're so inclined, you can drop in to Bella Bru for a cuppa Joe, then head east towards the William Pond park & the ARBT.

I'm not familiar with the ARBT but I have heard of it. Does it reach Roseville? Is there a map online somewhere?

No. Hopefully in our lifetimes that becomes a yes.
Here is your map....

From Antelope, my vote would be downtown Folsom, Beals Point (lots of parking), or Negro Bar.

I have a year park pass so I use William Pond or Sunrise Park, south end of Pennsylvania Ave. I heard there is lots of break in's at Bannister Park.
