Going to try and lose that pound I gained plus one more for a 2 pound loss week.
Try to get 3 spin sessions in, and go up one level Spinervals DVD twice.
Keep drinking water, lots of water (I slipped up on my water intake last week, and it may have something to do with my gain).
Get plenty of sleep, hopefully at least 7 hours nightly.
Watch my caloric intake.
I feel a cold coming on, so hopefully I'll kick that out of my system by the weekend.
Ride the Red Flannel Metric in Ohio on Sunday (if I kick the cold), and try to avoid the temptations I hear they offer at the rest stops.

Okay. So I log in yesterday, a few days late and dollars short, to report my disappointing Week 4 results (up 1.5 lbs), after some really challenging work in the gym. This morning, for grins, I step on the scale, AFTER breakfast, AFTER showering, AFTER coffee...and I weigh-in at 216.5. This is 3.5 lower than I weighed on monday, and completely on track with my desired pound-a-week goal for Jan 1, 2009. Whatever.
I guess the old, "don't watch the scale" adage holds. That, and "don't bother to weigh-in more than once a week" because weight loss seems to occur in mysterious, non-linear ways.
Best,
David.

Still 105Kg so a 0.00 Kg loss so far.
I went on the training ride again (same route each week) and managed 28 miles@17.5mph. Slightly slower (1mph) than last time but I was at the front for ~33% of the ride compared to ~5% for the last time. Quite cold today at 3c and I did have a minor issue with my calf cramping while going round a round-about at 25mph. Contested the sprint but placed 4 of 5 as uphill sprints are not really my favourite thing.
We have Halloween candy all over the house. The kids are into it already. I'm doing very well and haven't had any. Sticking to the water and not going overboard on portion control. Doing well. This morning I was down a pound too :-). 8 more to go!

That is not food. You can totally eat healthy and have it still tast good. However, , I've totally failed on the diet front this week, just too much great food, "had" to go to a restaurant opening, big parties, etcetera. I'd done so week too, mostly leafy greens accented with meat, etcetera. Ah well, hopefully surviving on alcohol and 5 course meals over the weekend will miraculously cause me to lose weight.

Subway makes tasty sandwiches, but since I went vegetarian I'm now tired of the veggie delite sub. I decided to try cooking frozen veggie burgers and I really like Amy's Texas Burger. The texture is firm and chewy similar to meat. They are only 140 calories per patty and they are great wrapped in a whole wheat pita and some sliced tomatoes and mustard.

Hey theetruscan - I hear what you are saying that Subway is not real food - but ya know after being strict eating real food for years and losing weight (then being lazy and gaining weight) i think Subway is a fabulous solution! I can't always put together a meal with real food - either too tired..or travelling for work -so for me it's the easy solution! Point is just eat healthy whenever posiivble and make the best choices when you can't.
Goodluck with your weekend....

I hear that. I guess I just have something of a kneejerk reaction to some of the "healthy food" sold from restaurants, because it all seems to be either bad or not healthy, and healthy food can taste so good!

Well not really but I am watching the DVR - Biggest Loser and it got me thinking about y'all. .. us and our quest!
And they just said that winning the Biggest Loser is not about the size of your body, but the size of your heart. Giving it everything you have every day. Well - for us I know it's not all that easy to get on the bike and pedal like crazy! But I do it - we do it...and whoosh the weight comes off!
Ok hope you are avoiding the candy! Hopping on the bike - or the treadmill or running..whatever - Just Do It! Have a great weekend - and come on in and post your weight here on Monday. Hey by the way we are at 97 pounds down! Next week hopefully 100+ Woo Hoo for us! Me i have gone from a whopping 22W or whatever (i have lost track) to my current sexy size 14..... and coming down! (Not allin our last 4 weeks though)
OK - Good luck everyone. Remember nothing taste as good as being thin. Just think how fast we will be on the bike when we are skinny!

Previous weight: 179
Current weight: 174
Total loss: -5 lbs.
I really hit the biking, and excercise hard this past week. Yesterday topped it all off with The Red Flannel Metric. I also avoided the pancake, chili, and cookie temptations at all the rest stops. I ate fruit at most, and 1 peanut butter sandwich at the halfway point.
Good luck to all this upcoming week.
