Hi all,

After several years of being bikeless, and several months of pining and plotting about how to get my poor self a bicycle, yesterday I found a Columbia Tourist V for sale on the side of the road for $20. Ironically, the couple was selling it for gas money. I was really only looking for an all-function, no-style beater...but I've fallen in love with this machine because it just looks SO COOL. Shiny fenders!

I know virtually nothing about bikes, so I'm really looking forward to using these forums to learn more about them and bike maintenance, and putting me new baby to good use getting around town.

Cheers.

Welcome! Those old Columbias are strong bikes.
Mine was crashed into at some point, and I found it at the side of a busy street. I repaired the damage to the rear of the frame, gave the bike some TLC and added a basket and a rack. Still a great bike!

Nice Bike.
The fenders must be worth the $20
