Well, looks like I won't be bike commuting any more... :(

The little house in the country where i live has finally sold, and I've gotten an apartment only two blocks from work!

Oh, well, more energy for recreational biking, now! I want to thank all you guys for all the helpful advice over my two years of bike commuting!

There's no law that says you have to take the most direct route from home to work. Sounds like you can commute however far you want now.

True, but if I'm going to be rambling around and exploring, I'd rather do it when I don't have a place to be or a time to be there. ;)

Sounds like a short commute, to me. Nothing wrong with that.

I was wondering where you'd got to. Enjoy the new pad.

Well, a combination of real-life and online stuff has been keeping me busy! :) After years of the house being up for sale, suddenly it seemed like everbody in the state wanted to tour it at once, and fussy housecleaning was a major time sink for the last several months. Then I got into an online MUD RPG, which has sucked up a ot of my online free time,. at just about the time I would normally have cabin fever and start whining here that I wanted to ride my bike. :D

This will be cool, a whole new set of destinations will now be in riding distance, and the rail trail they are planning to build in Seymour (if it ever actually gets done!) is only about a block away, and will lead in one direction to Green Bay (17 miles) and in the other to a lot of woodsy little rural towns. :)

Hey Inkwolf, remember me? I lived on the commuting thread forever, then I stopped ... posting, that is.

Sorry to see you've ended your commuting career but I must say I've always admired your gutsiness at riding through the Wisonsin winters, where I just have to contend with rain out here in the Bay Area.

As for me, I still commute regularly. Always have. Probably always will!!
