I'm just getting so tired of my lunches. I typically have a sandwich with pastrami, roastbeef, or turkey. The sodium is really getting to me, and I just feel so crappy with a high sodium intake. I am not really sure what else I could have, considering I need something very filling. So things like salads just aren't enough.

I ride 20 hilly miles a day, 5 days a week...and 50 miles on saturday. I weigh 135 and am 5'7.5 and would like to keep my weight.

Any ideas?

Sodium makes me feel like crap too. Try rice with stir fried vegetables and/or meat. Rice + X is a pretty good formula for food that's cheap, easy to make, not bad for you, and lower in sodium.

PB&J? possibly bring some fruit like a banana or apple also. Leftover steak and chicken from the night before also make great lunches too

Sounds pretty good actually. Do you make a batch for the whole week? Or individually? Do you use soy sauce or some replacement?

Tuna with wheat bread or rice.

It's good.

Uhhh. I just saw "Luche" in an urban dictionary. Unfortunate typo in the title.

I like PB& J or Tuna sandwiches on Healthnut bread. Yum.

My quick cheap packed lunch is usually some brown rice, rinsed canned beans (like black beans), some frozen veggies, and some salsa for flavor. I might make up a few containers of this and freeze it, and then just microwave one for lunch.

Thermos of home made minestrone soup. You can make the soup ahead of time, freeze in batches, then in the morning heat a container in the microwave before pouring in the thermos. Goes great with slices of whole wheat bread.

If you can, make extra supper and save some for lunch. If you have a microwave at work then you can heat it up. Or, eat leftovers cold. That's my favourite way.

Take a look at the recipes thread on Foo. I just put up some of the stuff I do.

If you find some recipes online, you can have a lot of healthy varieties to your lunch. Personally, I just eat tuna fish sandwiches or rice with tuna or pink salmon...becuase it's good.
