I am now in need of soem new wheels for my 00 Tassajara. Im gonna be using it as a college bike next year so i dont want to spend too much money on a wheel set. I am looking at these Shimano LX (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail.htm?stylepkey=12003&style_id=365%20SHILR1&dept_id=3&deptName=Parts&sub_id=75&subName=Wheelsets&lprice=89.98&hprice=89.98&detailName=Shimano%20LX%20Wheelset%20w/%20Sun%20Rhyno%20Lite%20Rims) wheels for $90. I dont want to really go above $100 if i dont have to. I only really need a rear wheel so any suggestions around this price are welcome. Thanks a lot

Well i must also tell you that im gonna use v brakes on this bike since it doesnt have rear disc mounts. so the rim has to be v brake but the hub can still be disc or not.

I'd buy those wheels for what you've described is the intended use. Save your money for something else!

I picked up a pair of them this winter from Nashbar. Only difference was mine were black. You'll be quite happy with em.

Lx hubs are pretty good for the price, and are a lot better than quite a few more expensive ones. Not a great lover of Rhino rims though, but that is a personal choice. You may not have disc brakes on your current bike, but whats your next one going to have? For a bit of future proofing, if you can afford it, get Disc hubs now, and when the time comes, sell your current bikes with the old wheels on. Then you have spares for your new Bike.

Well i have an 03 stinky with 8 inch hydros on it, but when it comes time to buy new wheels, they are gonna be handbuilt by my bike shop. Im only going for factory built for the tassajara because i need to save my money now. i might get disc hubs for the tass and get some disc brakes for it some time, but ill have to see. I might get disc hubs and a front avid disc some day
