I am looking to BORROW or rent (for a reasonable price - I will respect it and bring it back in one piece) a tandem bike for a wedding on November 9. The newlyweds are both avid cyclists and we want to surprise them with a tandem bike decorated with "just married" signs to ride off on after the wedding. I can't afford to buy one, but would love to borrow or rent one for that weekend (November 7-9), to be returned November 10. Any takers? I hope so! It will make two people verrrry happy. Be in touch!

I wonder how the bride will ride it while wearing a long wedding gown...or if the poster had even thought about that...:roflmao2:

We are using ours to ride from wedding site to reception site.

However, the idea is we are going to stop and change on the way, however the veil will stay on the helmet :D

At our friends wedding - they got married up on Mt. Diablo in the Bay Area. The groom led the guys up the north side on single bikes - wearing a tux top and cycling shorts and the bride led the gals up the south side. After they got married, they rode the tandem down to the reception. Was pretty cool.

Good and fun idea overall, but it looks like this poster was going to try to surprise them. I don't know if the couple will necessarily be thinking of wearing riding gear on the wedding day unless they specifically plan for it.

Our friends rode off to their reception on their tandem. The groom wore a tux top and riding shorts - and lead the guys up the north side of Mt. Diablo on their single bikes and the bride did the same with the women on the south side. The wedding was on Mt. Diablo and after the ceremony they rode down on the tandem together to the reception with the rest of us following. Was really cool!

A few years a go a local couple did a mass event on their singles, up to the halfway point. Then got married and finished the event on a tandem. She did wear veil under her helmet.
Another couple got married on a tandem. He wore a black skinsuit; she wore an all skinsuit and short veil.
Ah, TWogetherness!

above, 2nd paragraph should of read: 'she wore an all-white skinsuit . . . '

hmm.. the all skinsuit and short veil does drive the imagination a bit.

Had they even thought about the size for the tandem. If the bike was to big for the captain or stoker that could be a problem. Still if the bride and groom really wanted to ride a tandem on their wedding day, that would be cool--I would have done it.

Actually, I just lent her my Burley Duet.
Her brother is too tall for it, but they just want to go off 'into the sunset' a few blocks and have a laugh and photo op.
I am charging her 2 pictures and lots of smiles.
