Haven't seen this posted anywhere. WABA is having another free light giveaway. Time/location here:

Unfortunately,they use lithium coin cells. Google search will find the cheapest prices if you buy in bulk.

I would love some free lights. Right now I am a daylight only rider, except in the safety of my own neighborhood in the well lit hilly empty parking lots of closed businesses.

im trying to open their website and it seems down. Dcist had them listed though. There being given out at the suntrust plaza on columbia rd and 18th. Seems that if you already have a light, you wont get any love, so hide your lights if you want any freebies!

The days are getting shorter and WABAwants you to be safe and visible wherever you may be going by bike.

WABA, in conjunction with the District Department of Transportation will give out 600 free light sets and help make streets safer for nighttime riders by raising awareness of the importance of being seen when cycling especially at night. Lights will only be available for those who show up with their bike.

VA

BikeWalk Alexandria and WABA, in conjunction with Wheel Nuts Bike Shop and the City of Alexandria, will give out 50 free light sets to help make streets safer for nighttime cyclists. Lights will only be available for those who show up riding their bike. Wheel Nuts Bike Shop will provide mechanical support.
