I went on a 55 mile bike endurance event last weekend and felt like an adjustable seat post would have been good for this since the area was very hilly and long.
Does anyone have experience with the Crank Brothers Joplin Seat post? It looks like this would answer my problems for what I encountered.
What was the problem you encountered?
I have a Gravity Dropper (same idea, different design) and it's great.
What was the problem you encountered?
Most likely the need to frequently and quickly change his seat height.

I had a lot of areas that I had to get back onto my wheel for steep drops and other areas that were hilly that I was seated for a long period of time so the movement back and forth and the overall fatigue hit me.

Just wanted to make sure he didn't think it was a suspension seatpost.

No I really don't need a suspension seat post

The Joplin is the same as the Maverick Speedball. I had a Speedball, but the piston wouldn't return quickly and fully after a while and the clamps didn't hold the seat rails very tight, ergo I fell onto my wheel a few times.
I now have a Thomson. That said, I'd go with a GD if I could do it over. Adjustable seatposts are the cat's pajamas.
