Road Bike Racing - New Team Jerseys

Okay... I gotta admit, I was skeptical abuot all the hype, but the new Acqua e Sapone jersey is pretty cool. I think you have to have buns of steel to get away with the shorts, though.

I like the bike paintjob, too. It's almost enough to make me wanna go out and get a Specialized... But I'm not sure all is well with the world when Cipo rides Shimano. Something wrong with that.

As it is Cippolini, he probably posed that way on purpose. :)

I kinda' agree on the 'ugly' part. Better they should wear the exposed muscles suit that he has modeled. Now that would be cool.

It's going to be odd seeing Cipo sprinting on a Specialized SL compact frame (climber's weapon). It'll sell tons, though.

They're bad, admittedly, but it's still better than the Cannondale Chain Gang kit.

Velo has a point though: if it's gotta be on anyone, might as well be Cippo.

I dunno... the zebra jersey would probably look pretty cool with black shorts. The white zebra shorts area a bit much, though. At least it's new... This is Lotto's 2002 jersey:

No big change there, except for the ABX logo. In fairness, I've always like the Lotto jersey, and I think it's one of the best looking jerseys on the bike.

Mapei's was an improvement over lsat year's though I can't seem to find a picture. I'm still not quite sure what I think about iTeamNova.com's strip:

Regarding the Sappone getup- you pretty much have to be built like Mario to get away with it! I wonder about how it would look on tv- stripes like that tend to strobe. I like the Cofidis jersey, and Lotto is nearly unchanged. Now I hope Telekom changes a bit- that pink is a bit overwhelming, they should go back to the white ones they had a couple of years ago.

That Cofidis jersey is schweet. I'm sure USPS will come out with another awesome set. They always churn out nice ones. Any of you have pics of the new Mapei, Rabobank, and Credit Agricole uniforms?

Rabobank is introducing their 2002 team here next week. I will post "live" pix from the event if they have their new strip showing.

Here's Mapei...a little too colorful for me. But I never really did like the Mapei uniforms.

Unfortunately, we peons were not allowed in, but here is what Rabo was wearing at their presentation yesterday. Looks a lot like last year's to me, but I have to study it a bit more. In any case, I think their stuff is pretty nice.

Yeah... sticking with last year's jersey wouldn't be such a bad thing for Rabobank; it was the best one in the peloton.

The Netherlands had a great jersey for the World Championships too. Orange overall for the national color, and red/white/blue jagged blazes for the flag.

I actually preferred last year's and, with Festina gone, they would really have stood out. Now, there are how many yellow jerseys in the peloton? Mercatone Uno, ONCE, Saturn and Coast...

Chippo's new colors are lame!!!

Telekom and USPS have the best looking uniforms. Domo and Festina are kinda cool too.

Team coast rider Thorsten Wilhelms won the Tour of Qatar ...Just a little info bomb from me.

The Coast uniforms are a little cool....The multi-colored letters need to go....
