Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

One of my favorite towns at a great time of year. Been there many times, pedaled some awesome rides on pavement and forest roads (thanks to fat tires on a CX bike).
Any BF'ers in the area?
PM me, would love to talk routes and maybe set up a ride.

I'll be still getting over a hernia operation so won't be doing a lot of riding. I do know the area well from a mountain biking standpoint. Have you thought of taking the fat tires on this trip? I could suggest many trails in the area including an IMBA epic.

I've taken the fat tires before and done sections of Womble and others, but these days I take the cx bike with 32c road tires and do the gravel forest roads etc. I'll probably do the road loop to the East of Hot Springs, and I always have to do Black Snake Road coming into town from the West, just b/c it's such a killer climb. Then I'll probably drive North into the NF and explore some forest roads.

One of my favorite forest road rides is what we call the Lake Sylvia Loop. It's 40 miles long with some awesome climbs. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you some information.

Thanks ODB, I've been checking out that area and it's exactly what I'm looking for. I know from experience that maps and roads can be sketchy up there, is there a good map source you can recommend?

I loaded up some info on this a dropbox (http://drop.io/Flatside). It's a 5 page pdf file with a map and directions, enjoy.
