Like many that come here, I am looking to purchase my first mountain bike. I know you folks get hit up a bunch by these type of questions, but I have been researching and I am still confused about the different equipment and frames. I have a road bike and a city/urban bike, now I am looking to expand my riding. I know a lot about the road bikes, but mountain bikes are a bit of a mystery to me. I am looking at two specific bikes and would like to get opinions, any constructive comments would be welcome.
I know it is best to test ride both, and I will, but test riding doesn't help me a bunch. I have to ride for quite a few hours to determine which is best, it just doesn't come to me very fast.
The two bikes are about the same price, about $900, but have very different equipment. Plus there isn't much info on the Raleigh at all, other than the manufacturers web site.
Rockhopper Comp Disc 29
Raleigh Mojave 29
Thanks.
