14 hours of driving over 2 days later...

I have arrived! Got 'moved' into my apartment today (still no word on the moving company which will arrive before on/before sunday). "Moved in" includes a few potted plants, suitcase, air mattress, and sleeping bag.

A trip to target later:
$150 (not too bad) bagged in 14 plastic and 2 paper bags  seriously? This ringer was an idiot.

Some pics of the pad:

ooo. Nice pad. Has it own washer and dryer. Nice. Just think of all the clutter that's soon going to be accumulated (if you're anything like me.) Have fun in Colorado. Think of me when you ski :thumb:

Nice! Sweet apt, Arti! :)thanks! its nice but actually way too much space. :( I'm on a short lease, and will probably move to a 1br or something later, but its what they had available right now of the (few) places I had a chance to take a look at when I came on my interview visit.

Don't worry, you'll soon appreciate having a bit of extra room. Nice place!

It's going to be weird sleeping on an air mattress in an empty apartment in a new place in a new state. :)

Cool lookin' pad Artifice. Good luck in your new location...moving can be stressful, but at least you got yourself a nice place to relax.

Nice! Don't clutter it up w/ furniture. You'll need lots of space for all your bikes.

Welcome to CO, arti!

Take it from someone who has moved a lot (4 long distance moves in just the last 6 years), you'll accumulate stuff. Stuff is kind of like a gas... it'll expand to fill whatever space it's in. Or conversely, you'll keep adding stuff to fill the volume you have in your house. Even in 6 months! I wouldn't plan on downsizing TOO much!

its nice but actually way too much space.

there is NO SUCH THING as way too much space!

It's a really nice place, big and bright and well-lit. - and your own laundry facilities - sweet! The walk-in closet alone is worth driving 14 hrs for.

enjoy the new digs, and good luck on the new gig! :thumb:

Im in San Diego right now and I pay $650/month plus utilities for one room in a 1100sq. ft. apartment...

Yeah, thats about the same rent/wise- I'd have to rent one of my rooms (1br + den apparently means 2 BR in this case) for $650 to pay half my rent :)

I am also on a 6-month lease (costs a bit more) and have a private garage/entrance.

Just think of all that space you have for bikes, stuff, skis, stuff, furniture and yet more stuff.:D

I hate to think how much stuff I've got if I had to shift.:twitchy: My bikes alone are spilling out of one room and are starting to take over another.:o

Mortgage? Even better!! Out here something like that would RENT for an easy $1200, even being an apt at that! With no private garage!

Just to give you an idea, a three bedroom, 1 bath, 1 car garage, 1100 square ft house is RENTING for 3k per month here.

Spare bedroom = Bike workshop.

Get some vinyl carpet runner to keep the gunk off the carpet, put up a workstand and a workbench, and you're set.
