Hey, here's my new Rascal frame. I'm told it is a 92-93 and it's a small size. I've got to replace the bottom bracket which is a bummer as these aren't too easy to do. My lbs has some Klein connections so I'm hoping it can get done by the right people.
My questions are as follows
I've got a 108mm spindle which means I can only run an older (M900 I think) crank, am I limited with what cassetes and rear derailleurs (ie the cassete and derailleur have to be the same vintage) I can use? I am going to make it a single speed for now, but in the future I may want to add a rear derailleur.
I'm in need of some forks and it seems as though my 1 inch head tube is making this a bit challenging. The stock bike came with chro-mo forks, is there anyplace that carries rigid forks, both alu and chro-mo? What about carbon forks?
Since the frame has a stinger for routing the rear brake cable for use with canti's I've been debating whether or not to use a canti on the rear and v-brake on the front. Am I wasting my time with the canti on the rear? As for brake choices I was thinking a period correct XTR unit for the canti on the rear and perhaps a newer Avid unit on the front. What about levers? I've heard that canti's and v-brakes need different length pulls, can one lever satisfy both?
I assume that once I get some forks situated that I can find a stem as a couple lbs's have piles of stems, do I have to stick with a quill style, or can I use a 1 inch clamping stem?
And last but not least,
What would you guys do for a build? I'm going to repaint it (thinking a satin black and dark gray "klein" with clear coat)
Here's the pictures, sorry for the bad quality, I'll get some better ones tomorrow
