I was wondering what psi should I run my tires in crits? That is, should it be lower than that of road races or what? I'm assuming lower pressure equals better traction in the turns.

I'd keep it high, when I was racing the weekend a kid pinch flatted on the final hill sprint because he had run his tires at a lower pressure (he crashed out and took out another guy)

lower pressure will not necessarily give you better traction in corners...good quality tires have the sidewall designed to take the load. Too low of pressure and you can roll a tire right off the rim.
