Do any of you have wool cycling gloves that you're happy with, and a brand you could recommend?
I don't want to go through another winter with the nylon gloves I used last year. Thanks!
Ibex Climawool (http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/ProductDetail.php?GID=1263&VID=14923&Product=Climawool-Glove). Not cheap, but oh so nice. Wide temperature range too. Very well made.
Yes, as a matter of fact ... I've got a pair of lined flip-top wool gloves I got from Walmart a couple years ago for $5. They're wonderful!!

I stopped off at the Army-Navy the other day. Wool jeep cap and a pair of wool gloves for 11 bucks I am pretty happy with.

I do the same thing, I just pick up a set of cheap rag wool gloves and bull them over my regular cycling gloves. If I need a bit more I put a liner under my cycling gloves and the rag wool on the outside. works very well.
+1 on Army/Navy. I found a pair of lobster-claw gloves that are great. Wool lining and a very tough nylon canvas shell. Much warmer than anything I could find in other stores. And about as cheap as possible.

I use some pretty cheap wool gloves with a dense knit and Thinsulate liner. I find they are just as warm and less sweaty than most hi-tech gloves. Wear can be a problem depending on how your bars are setup.
The only downside is that they take a long time to dry out but they are still reasonably warm.
